Bob VerHalen is an "Idea Man". He also happens to ride a BMW K1200LT.

Bob had some ideas for his bike - simple modifications that made the bike a bit more interesting, visible, or useful to him. When he would show these modifications to other riders, they would invariably ask "Where can I get one?". So, Bob started making them under the name "Cycle Creations of Winston Salem".

It didn't take long for Bob to decide that he loves inventing these types of gadgets, and loves using them - but he didn't love the amount of time it took to manage the retail aspects of such a business. That's where CycleGadgets.com came into the picture. One Spring afternoon, Bob called and asked me to take a look at his products, to see if I'd be interested in handling the retail side of his operation (giving him more time for the "Fun Stuff" of actually inventing and making the products). Once I got a chance to look over his unique products, I was more than interested - and I knew that many of you would be too!

Running Light Conversion for K1200LT, R1100/1150RT The running light conversion kit contains two dual-filament sockets and bulbs to replace your stock front or rear turn signal sockets. After conversion, the turn signals will glow dimly (7 watts) as running lights, and flash brightly (24 watts) when the turn signal is on. The replacements are snap-in style, not the bayonet type that are originally on the bike, but they fit securely. Installation is quite simple with the included instructions. Mirror Tethers for BMW K1200LT / R1100RT / R1150RT The pop-off mirrors on the BMW LT and RT models is handy when you need to perform maintenance - but they can pop off at inopportune times. I remember shortly after getting my new RT, I reached down at a stop light to adjust the mirror - and it popped right off, dangling from the lamp socket! Fortunately, I was standing still - if that had happened while riding, there is a good chance that the socket wouldn't have been strong enough to keep the mirror from falling. The mirror tethers are made of braided steel cable, plenty strong enough to keep your mirrors from hitting the ground unexpectedly.
