Feel the warmth!

My early touring experiences on my 1986 BMW R80 gave me some of the greatest days of my life - but I still remember some of the not-so-good days. I had to make a trip from Indianapolis to Chicago - less than 200 miles - one September day. Problem was, it was Laurene's birthday the next day - so I spent the evening preparing a surprise "treasure hunt" for her to follow the next morning - and as a result, I didn't leave for Chicago until after 11:00PM. BOY was it cold! I stopped and put on every layer of clothing I could fit, and topped it off with my rainsuit - and even so I was far from comfortable!

Contrast that trip with one I made just recently on an R1200GS. We'd had 3 weeks of great weather early in the Spring, but a cold snap came through the night before and when I awoke there was snow on the grass and trees! Temperatures were still in the mid-20's, but the roads were clear. Fortunately, just that week I'd received my new Gerbing's heated jacket liner and gloves. I plugged in my Temp-Controller to the Gerbing's outlet on the R1200GS and hit the road.

By the time I got to my destination, my legs were like popsicles (I normally ride an R1200RT or a Gold Wing, where the legs get more protection, so I didn't have pant liners then - I do now though!). My body and hands, though, were warm and toasty for the entire trip.

Gerbing's heated clothing has been a mainstay of the serious touring motorcyclist for 30 years now, but they continue to innovate all the time. CycleGadgets.com is very proud to be the exclusive retailer for this fine product in the Northwest Arkansas/Southwest Missouri area. Because of the wide range of sizes available (there are over 30 stock jacket liner sizes alone), we strongly recommend that you try on the apparel products in person if at all possible - either here, at a rally, or at your local Gerbing's dealer. For that reason, we don't currently offer the actual heated apparel on-line, but we do have accessories for those of you who already have Gerbing's gear and just need new pieces.

Gerbing On/Off Switch. You can use this simple on/off switch in leiu of an adjustable temp controller to just switch your gear on as you get cold, and off as you get too hot. We strongly recommend the Temp Controllers so you're not always fiddling with the switch, but it's a workable solution if you're on a tight budget. Old part #CXOO   $14.95
# GE-TCSW
Gerbing Stuff Sack is a handy little item for keeping your gear organized. The stuff sack is large enough to fit both a jacket liner and a pants liner. In fact, with a little effort I was able to squeeze almost all my heated gear - XL socks, pants and jacket liner, AND a dual portable temp controller - into a single sack! The only thing left is my gloves, and I have a separate bag I keep on the bike with all my gloves in it. Highly recommended for trips where you're likely to encounter occasional, but not constant, need for heated gear. Old part #CFL.   $11.95
# GE-ASCK
Gerbing BMW-style Socket Kit - includes BMW-style socket with fused battery harness, and a BMW-style to Gerbing's coax adapter cable. Requires installation. Old part #CXAK.   $29.95
# GE-ACKT
Gerbing BMW-style Adapter. Allows Gerbing's clothing or controllers to connect to a BMW-style accessory outlet. Note that newer BMW CanBus bikes don't allow more than 5A current through their sockets, so this may not work on a CanBus bike! Old part #CXAP   $17.95
# GE-ACPL

Gerbing's T5 Microwire Heated Gloves. New microwire technology allows for a thinner glove with heated wires so small you can't even feel them, and almost instananeous heating. The T5 is a gauntlet style, fully-insulated glove with Hypora® waterproof membrane and Thinsulate® insulation. As with all Gerbing's gloves, the heat extends through the entire length of each finger as well as the thumb.

We always recommend that you try on gloves before purchasing them, either at our store, at a rally where we're selling Gerbings, or at your local Gerbing's dealer. However, if this is not practical, you can measure around the palm of your hand (excluding the thumb) and use the sizing guidelines here to determine the closest match.

Gerbing's G3 Heated Glove is as pliable and comfortable as a standard motorcycle glove, with the added benefit of electric heat. The soft black leather exterior is lined with Thinsulate® insulation and a waterproof/breathable membrane, and has heat along the entire length of each finger as well as the back of the hand. This glove features a hook & loop adjustment and gauntlet cuff, and has gel-cushioned pads on the palm for extra comfort. Sizes listed in inches correspond to a measurement around the palm of the hand over the knuckles, excluding the thumb. Ideally you should try gloves on in person, either in our shop, at our booth at a rally, or at your local Gerbing dealer - but if you are unable to do so this measurement will get you within a size and we can exchange them up or down in size as needed once you try them on.
